SIERRA Project

SIERRA Project SIERRA is a program aimed to develop enhanced situational awareness for fire-fighting operations. The program is co-developed Kelly Cohen and Manish Kumar.

The SIERRA Project (Surveillance for Intelligent Emergency Response Robotic Aircraft) is dedicated to serving the needs of both State and Federal Emergency Management Organizations to meet there Unmanned Aerial Systems Requirements. The team has conducted UAS Training with Manufacturer Marcus UAV Inc. and on November 5th with the West Virginia Department of Forestry and Marchs UAV completed a live

demonstration test at a controlled 36 acre burn in Morgantown, WV. During the demonstration November 5th the team made 4 successful flights of the UAS in RC mode and clearly demonstrated the potential of the technology to save lives, land and money. Members:
