And just like that, another SonLight Power team is on the ground in Honduras! 🇭🇳☀️

This week, volunteers from Hoekstra Electrical Services and Sustainergy Cooperative are joining forces with our Honduran partners at Iglesia Vida Abundante and the Municipality of Juticalpa to bring reliable electricity to three more schools in the Olancho region.

With this trip, we’ll celebrate an incredible milestone: 12 schools served this summer—bringing light, technology, and new opportunities to hundreds of students and teachers.

Our Swiss Army knife is here with a very exciting update Sustainergy is embarking on!

August 1st we will be setting on an adventure of a lifetime to a beautiful place in Honduras to provide solar systems for 3 remote schools who have no access to electricity. This is such a beautiful project to be apart of as with this opportunity you and I will get to see a generation of children and families impacted greatly through something as simple as electricity! A luxury we often overlook!

✨Help Us Bring Light to Honduras! ✨
This August (August 1–8, 2026), Sustainergy Cooperative is proud to partner with SonLight Power on a self-funded mission trip to Honduras.
Together, we'll help equip three remote schools with pole-mounted solar systems, bringing off-grid electricity to villages that currently have no access to power. Reliable electricity means brighter classrooms, longer educational opportunities, and a stronger future for students, teachers, and their communities.
Our mission doesn't stop with installing solar. We'll also be training local community members in solar installation and maintenance so they have the knowledge and skills to keep these systems running for years to come. By empowering local leaders, we're helping create a lasting impact that extends far beyond our week in Honduras.
We're excited to have two of our worker-owners representing Sustainergy on this mission:
Brittany DiBattista – Our Office Manager (or, as we like to call her, our Swiss Army knife!). Brittany wears many hats and helps keep everything at Sustainergy running smoothly. Her passion for serving others and building strong communities makes her an incredible part of this mission.
Lewis Connell – Our Sales & Marketing Manager and solar expert. Lewis is passionate about making clean, affordable energy accessible to everyone. Whether he's educating homeowners here at home or helping install solar systems abroad, he believes renewable energy has the power to change lives.
As worker-owners, Brittany and Lewis are committed to bringing energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions not only to the communities we serve here in Ohio, but to communities around the world. They are honored to represent Sustainergy and be part of a project that will bring light, opportunity, and hope to families who have never had reliable electricity.
