🚨 WATER WHERE IT SHOULDN’T BE? KNOW WHAT TO DO.
A burst pipe, a failed water heater, or a supply line that lets go can turn into a serious emergency fast.
Before anything else: find your main shutoff and turn it off. It’s usually where the water line enters the house — basement front wall, crawl space, or near the water meter. Turn it clockwise until it stops.
Then, open a faucet on the lowest floor to drain the pressure down.
⚡ If the water is anywhere near outlets, a breaker panel, or anything plugged in, DO NOT WADE IN. Kill the power to that area first, or stay out and call a professional.
🚫 WHAT NOT TO ATTEMPT:
- Don’t run a wet vacuum near live outlets.
- Don’t open up walls trying to find the leak yourself.
- Don’t put yourself in danger trying to stop the damage.
💧 Once the water is off, the emergency is over — and it’s a repair.
