Here is the complete journey for this two phase build.
The original 2 bed / 2 bath, 924 sq ft home was built by us in 2024.
Now, Phase Two added a 2 car garage, 220 sq ft office, and 34’ x 12’ covered outdoor family-fun space – all tied seamlessly into the existing structure.
The result: a beautiful, fully functional home that fits this homeowner’s lifestyle today.
I loved watching this project transition.

Welcome to the Oak Hills project!
These private ranch views will soon be home to twin cottages and a grand garage barn built to entertain in any Texas season.
After finalizing the layout and positioning of all three structures, we set to work on the foundations. Here's a look at earthwork, forms, and plumbing rough-in leading up to the barn slab pour.

Round two of spray‑foam insulation is in. This time we hit the walls and roof deck with open‑cell foam for sound dampening — 4” in the walls, 6” overhead, landing us around R‑21 to R‑28 in R-Value performance. This place is officially sealed up tight, and Texas summer ready.
Right after that, drywall started flying. Panels up, taped, bedded, and setting a seamless canvas for the wall treatments coming next. Every step is stacking up fast, and the transformation is getting real.

Before we roll into the next stage of our Phase 2 addition, here’s a look back at where this home started. We built this barndo‑style house from the ground up in 2024, and I have to share a bit of the fun. This build went up clean with strong lines and a solid, well‑proportioned profile. Even in its earliest form, the structure delivered the kind of understated presence that set the tone for everything we’re adding now.

Our team wrapped the house in a striking 3’ rock wainscot – an architectural detail that adds high-end durability with a huge visual payoff.

Let's take a look at my favorite Open Vista update so far.
With the exterior shell fully in place, we sprayed 1” of closed-cell spray foam as the first round of insulation. All the lumber is set, framing out the walls, ceilings, stairs, and the second-story loft. The HVAC ductwork is in, and electrical has been run cleanly through the walls, ready for outlets, switches, and fixtures when the time comes.
The large picturesque windows - and the light that pours through them - make the main living space truly captivating. I am completely enchanted with this build and excited for what’s coming next.
