PNGC Power Celebrated a Milestone!

PNGC Power hosted its 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting, Tuesday, September 30, in Boise, Idaho, and it was one of our largest gatherings yet! We had an incredible day of discussions as cooperative members, partners, and industry leaders came together to look ahead at the future of power.

From AI and grid integration to resource development, resource adequacy, and an inside look at the political landscape in the Northwest and across the nation, the conversations were dynamic, forward-looking, and inspiring.

Thank you to all our speakers and to everyone who joined us in celebrating 50 years of collaboration, innovation, and commitment to our members. Here’s to the next 50!

Celebrating 50 Years of Cooperative Power!

Since 1975, PNGC Power has been lighting the way with innovation, collaboration, and community-driven energy. While the faces on our Board have changed over the years, one thing remains constant: an unwavering commitment to the members we serve.

This year, as we celebrate our past we also look to our future. Our G&T has doubled in membership since its creation, and our members are forging their own energy future by generating more non-federal power and building resources that will energize the next 50 years.

Celebrating 50 Years of Cooperative Power!

PNGC Power has been a pioneer in the Pacific Northwest since 1975, when a group of forward-thinking cooperatives came together to meet their members’ energy needs.

Over the years we’ve always pushed the industry forward. In 1997 PNGC Power became the nation’s first electric cooperative to receive a power marketing license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), gaining the ability to purchase and resell power at wholesale. And in 2000 congress passed the PNGC Power-inspired Joint Operating Entities (JOE) Bill that benefits members of PNGC Power by enabling them to jointly purchase power at wholesale from BPA.

This year, as we celebrate 50 years of innovation, collaboration, and cooperative-driven energy, we’re not just honoring our past—we’re powering the future.
