The face behind the contractor you choose matters. BIG TIME.

When you hire a contractor, you’re handing over a lot more than a project.

For a homeowner, it may be the place you come home to every night. The home you’ve worked for, saved for, raised your family in, and poured years of your life into.

For a business or property owner, it may be the building you’ve invested in, the business you’ve built, the people who depend on it, and the livelihood that happens inside those walls every day.

Either way, you’re trusting someone with something you’ve worked incredibly hard for.

That’s a big deal to me.

Unfortunately, I see the other side of this all the time in our industry. Homeowners and businesses left dealing with unfinished or poorly done work, unexpected expenses, lack of communication, missed deadlines, and sometimes having to bring in another contractor just to make things right.

The financial side is hard enough. But there’s another cost that’s harder to put a number on: the stress, lost time, disrupted homes and businesses, and the constant worry of whether the person responsible for your project is actually going to follow through.

That’s why I believe choosing a contractor goes far beyond who can build the wall, remodel the space, repair the damage, or complete the scope.

You’re choosing the person who will make decisions when you’re not standing there. The person who will notice something that isn’t right and decide whether to address it or overlook it. The person who will manage your money, coordinate the work, solve the problems that inevitably come up, and ultimately put their name behind the finished product.

You’re trusting their judgment. Their experience. And maybe most importantly, their character.

I don’t take that lightly.

I know there’s someone trusting me on the other side of every estimate, every phone call, and every project. Whether I’m working on someone’s home or a large commercial project, I know what may look like another jobsite to someone else represents something much bigger to the person who owns it.

It’s something you’ve worked for. Invested in. Built a home, a business, or a livelihood around.

And if you trust me and my team with it, I believe that trust comes with a responsibility to take care of what you’ve built.

Because at the end of the day, you aren’t just handing a contractor a project.

You’re handing them something you worked hard to build.

Your property. Your money. Your time. Your livelihood. Your trust.

Choose the face behind that responsibility carefully.

It matters. Big time.

🦋 Butterfly House Update

Things are taking shape at the Butterfly House!

From site prep and grading to piers, rebar, fill and now a freshly poured porch, this phase brought some great progress to the project. And Joe Burke and his crew absolutely knocked it out of the park. 👏🏻

One of our favorite parts of a project like this is watching all the different pieces, and trades, come together. A lot happens before you ever get to see the finished result.

We’ve restored a lot of brick over the years… and this one was one of our favorites.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching decades of grime disappear and seeing the original craftsmanship come back to life.

Brick doesn’t always need to be replaced.
Sometimes it just needs someone who knows how to restore it.

“The Flip That Wasn’t Supposed to Be”

Every architectural detail brings this former veterinary clinic one step closer to feeling like a home instead of a commercial building.

Little by little, it’s trading those roots for architecture that feels warm, welcoming, and unmistakably residential.

The new front doors are in—and they’re the first glimpse of where this exterior is headed.

Next up: dormers across the roofline. We think they’ll be one of the biggest transformations yet.
