⚠️ A HOME SAFETY REMINDER FROM TOTAL HOME CENTER ⚠️

These photos show what was left after a portable battery charger caught fire at our Controller’s parents’ home. It had been plugged in for less than 15 minutes.

We’re sharing this frightening experience as a reminder: Please don’t leave portable chargers plugged in unattended or charging while you sleep. Unplug them when charging is complete. 🔌

✅ Charge on a hard, flat surface away from anything that can burn.
✅ Use the manufacturer’s recommended charging equipment.
✅ Stop using a charger that is swollen, damaged, leaking, or unusually hot.
✅ Follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions.

The charger was too badly burned to identify the brand, so we cannot name a specific product.

One of the best things you can do for your hardwood floors heading into fall and winter? Control the humidity in your home. 🌡️

Here's why it matters:

🪵 Wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with moisture levels. Low winter humidity, especially once the heat kicks on, can cause planks to shrink and gaps to form between them.

💧 The ideal indoor humidity level for hardwood floors is between 35 and 55 percent.

🌬️ Running a humidifier in the colder months can make a real difference in how your floors look and perform over time.

🧹 Avoid wet mopping hardwood in any season. A slightly damp mop or a hardwood-specific cleaner is all you need.

A little seasonal care goes a long way with hardwood. 💡
