Project Complete: Clarke County Fairgrounds 🎉

Over the past couple months, we’ve been hard at work at the Clarke County Fairgrounds building a canopy that will keep local visitors dry and out of the sun. There is going to be lots of exciting action this summer where this canopy will be put to good use.

All of our hard work has come to end here as we are moving to the next project. Check out the before and after picture, it’s always so cool to see just how far we’ve come from where we started.

Concrete Demo and Repair for North Mountain Fire Station

Our crew has mobilized and started working out at the North Mountain fire station to improve their everyday life so they can keep fighting fires in our community.

Their concrete pads leading into station are cracked and in need of repair. That’s where our crew comes in.

We are tearing out and building back better to get them more space to work and get moving quickly in times of emergency.

Stay tuned for the results, we can’t wait to get these guys back up and running, ready for whatever comes next.

New roof, stronger community.

We loved sitting down with Brad Broy, President of the Clarke County Fairgrounds, to hear how the new roof over the grandstands is going to make a real difference for everyone who gathers here.

From better protection from the elements to creating a more reliable space for fairs, events, and memories this will get lots of great use throughout this summer and the coming years.

We’re especially grateful for Brad’s kind words and the partnership we’ve built. It all started with a great conversation between him and our own Jeff and it turned into something special for Clarke County.

Huge thanks to Brad and the entire Fairgrounds team for trusting Pine Knoll with this project.

Two generations. One legacy.

60 years ago, my dad Garland built a small building at the Clarke County Fairgrounds and spent his younger days racing horses on the same grounds. He shared some amazing stories with us from his time horse racing and even got to see photos of the original building from back then compared to today.

Now, 60 years later, we’re building again for the fairgrounds. It’s a powerful reminder of the rich history of projects we’ve worked on over the years.

From the racetrack to the rebuild, the Pine Knoll legacy continues.

Proud of our roots at Pine Knoll Construction 🇺🇸

We just freshened up the front of our office with some summer flair. We have our original company truck from the early days, blooming flower beds, a few trusty old machines, and a reminder of what we stand for with those three crosses ✝️

This is a daily reminder of where we started, the hard work we put in every day, and the values that guide every excavation, site prep, and home build we do across the tri-state area.

🌿 Community Spotlight: Izaak Walton League of America - Wi******er Branch 🌿

We recently sat down with Keith Brisson to talk about an improvement project at the Wi******er IWLA grounds. When their original landscaping company went out of business, Keith started calling around for help with berms and site work.

He called Pine Knoll. Jeff and his team responded immediately, showing up the very next day. Keith was impressed right away by how well Jeff understood exactly what they needed, the importance of doing it right, and how quickly the work could get done.

Not only did they build and refresh the berms, but Jeff’s crew also went the extra mile by clearing out a lot of brush that wasn’t even part of the original plan and filled some potholes along the road.

We went the extra mile all while giving back to the community. We hope that this contribution will help the community have some fun out on the range this summer!

On steep slopes this morning 📈

We spent today up on steep slopes refreshing the shooting backstop berms for the Izaak Walton League gun range here in Wi******er. We donated our help and a few truck loads of dirt to get these berms back in good condition for a long summer of firearm recreation for the folks over at Izaak Walton.

These berms were in need of some attention, so we quickly slotted them in our schedule to bolster the safety of the gun range and give an overall refresh by clearing out some shrubbery that had grown up.

We also filled in any potholes in the gravel road leading up to the range to give members a smooth ride into the newly refreshed gun range.

🛫 Big progress in Wi******er! This site is wrapping up strong, and we’re just a few finishing touches away from handing it over.

Our crew has knocked out:
✅ Building pad and complete site grading
✅ Storm & sanitary sewer lines
✅ Water line trenching and installation
✅ Main electrical feed trench, and light pole bases poured
✅ Concrete Work - curbs, sidewalks, and dumpster pad, and transformer pad
✅ Stone base graded and ready for asphalt

Paving crew rolls in very soon. As the project is taking shape, it is always cool to see the crew pull a job together!
