You can teach product specifications in a classroom, but true expertise is built in the field.
It’s Training Week here at Hayward Flow Control, and while technical deep dives and spec sheets are part of the curriculum, our biggest investment happens beyond the classroom.
As part of our development program, our trainees head directly to live industrial and municipal facilities for hands-on site visits. Stepping onto the operations floor of facilities allows our team to see Hayward valves, actuation, and filtration systems operating under real-world conditions—managing aggressive chemistries, high-cycle demands, and continuous flow.
More importantly, it puts our team face-to-face with the operators and technicians who run these critical systems every day.
Hearing directly from end users bridges the gap between engineering and application. It shows our team firsthand:
• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Downtime isn't just an inconvenience; it impacts communities, operations, and safety. Reliable flow control is an absolute necessity.
• 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: Ergonomic hand levers, true-union designs, robust corrosion resistance, and simple inline servicing aren't just bullet points—they are features that make an operator’s shift safer and more efficient.
• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗪𝗵𝘆" 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: Understanding why operators consistently rely on Hayward Flow Control gives our team purpose and perspective that no slide deck could ever replicate.
Investing in our people means giving them more than just product data—it means equipping them with a deep respect for the systems we support and the people who keep them running.
Proud of our trainees for diving in this week and grateful to our facility partners and plant operators in the community for sharing their time, knowledge, and feedback with our next generation of flow control specialists.
