Artist Katy Fischer, installed a large piece of art on the floor of our back studio so we could photograph it for this years Progressive Insurance annual report. The piece was roughly 15 feet long and 4 ½ feet wide and consisted of more than 500 individual ceramic pieces that the artist created and then placed on a blank background. Katie meticulously rearranged the pieces until she is satisfied with the position and spacing.

I always enjoy working with artist and observing their techniques, talking about their process, and just watching creativity in process! It’s a great business we’re in!

We do a lot of work with large medical imagers like MRI, CAT and PET scanners and they all look pretty similar. I decided to learn what the differences are.

DPI has been shooting MRI, CAT and PET scanners for many years now. We arrive, set up our gear, shoot the images and leave. Scout, evaluate, plan, proceed, SUCCEED!
That pretty much sums up this photoshoot we did on location in West Virginia.

While scouting a location for a Cub Cadet utility vehicle / duck hunting scene, with the client, he suddenly said, “I want to shoot here!” My first response was, “WHHAATT?”.

This was sooo difficult to shoot due to the precise camera placement that was required to show the illusion of the diamonds floating in mid-air. If we were a little to the left or right, up or down, you could tell and the illusion was not as powerful.
