Please welcome Sara Al-Nimer as the newest student member of VR/AR Association Cleveland! We are very excited to have Sara join us from the healthcare sector.

Sara's Bio (in her own words)

I am a research engineer in Cleveland Clinic working on the research and development of an augmented reality imaging system for minimally invasive surgery.

I studied biomedical engineering in Cleveland State University which is when my passion and vision for the growth of AR in healthcare was first realized. I’m very excited to see the exceptional work and growth in AR/VR in Cleveland and surrounding areas in the last 5 years since I started, and I’m even more excited about the upcoming years.

I envision that in the next 5-10 years, AR and VR will become a vital technology in healthcare specially in Cleveland for being a healthcare hub, as well as in other sectors. I am thrilled to be a part of this group and I look forward to participating and meeting other members!

Welcome to the Cleveland Chapter of the Global Virtual/Augmented Reality Association

Shortly after the formation of CLEVR in 2016 it became apparent that Cleveland Extended Reality (XR) companies that were creating hardware, software and other services for the emerging Virtual and Augmented Reality headset based experiences could benefit greatly from a deeper, more global connection to the multitude of developers, engineers, strategists, educators, animators, directors and other creatives spread all over the world.

Thus, the plan to launch the Cleveland Chapter of the Global VR/AR Association (“VRARA”) was hatched. Today our Cleveland Chapter provides thought leaders, seasoned vets, tinkerers and newbies alike with the same access to the combined networking power of over 50 worldwide chapters comprised of 21,000 members and 4000 companies. Our founding member companies include RazorEdge (a Cleveland based Tech Strategy and Software Engineering Firm who launched an XR practice back in 2017) and CLEVR (a nonprofit based in the 216).

Recently the Chapter added North American Coatling Labs, 360Alley, Channel XR, HoloPundits and Virtual Spaces.
