Started in 1911 in a little storeroom shop in Brooklyn, New York, Charles A. has been catering to the plumbing and metal working industry by manufacturing soldering furnaces, gas burners, heat treating furnaces and metal melting furnaces. It was back in 1974 when we started shop in our present location on Long Island, NY. Here, we started our niche manufacturing business in a mid-sized 11,000 squa

re feet building that serves as both office and manufacturing space. We are currently into supplying casting ovens, small heat treat ovens, melting equipment, forging equipment and gas burners to tackle heating projects ranging from black oxide tanks to pottery kilns, crucible pre-heating to lobster cookers. We make good use of the well-crafted Venturri air mixers to produce intense heat without the noise and complicated piping of forced air. This is a family business with 5 out of 9 employees’ members of the family. Rob and his father Mike take care of the customers helping them troubleshoot equipment, and write quotes. Mike’s sister, Susan meanwhile manages the office and Mike’s brother, Richie builds the furnaces with the other craftsmen. Shelly, my wife, takes care of designing the catalogues and advertisement materials. For nearly 100 years, the Hones family has been manufacturing quality gas equipment of cast iron, firebrick, and steel here at home on Long Island. Our full line of products include Accessories like Fire Bricks, Pots, Hearth Plates, Burners, and Controls Crucibles, Base Blocks and Ball Valves besides Baso Gas Valves, Custom Burners, Gas Burners, Heat Treating Equipment, Hog Cookers, Industrial Ovens & Furnaces, Kiln Burners, Lead Melters, Metal Melting Furnaces/Equipment, Oven Furnaces, Pipe Burners, Radial Ring Burners, Raised Port Multi-Ring Burner, Rectangular Melters, Round Melters, Rectangular Gas Burners, Round Gas Burners, Salt Bath Furnaces, Stainless Steel Pipe Burners, Torch Burners, Venturi Air Mixers, Venturi Burners and, of course, The Buzzer.
