Foote was an engineer employed by the General Electric Company located in Schenectady, NY. At this period in history, GE was flourishing and expanding worldwide. It soon became apparent to Mr. Foote that by striking out on his own and offering solutions to GE with their HVAC requirements that he could make a fine living for himself and his family. nie, NY. The first two manufacturer’s he represented were Marley Cooling Towers and Anemostat Products. In 1959, Donald Ferguson Sr. took a position with Mr. Foote as a sales engineer. Ferguson was a graduate of the Hudson Valley Community College HVAC Program. From 1959 until 1970 the company took on the representation of additional manufacturers such as IAC, Twin-City Fans, Loren Cook Co, etc. The firm was involved with supplying fans, registers, grilles, diffusers and VAV boxes for notable projects such as the Empire State Plaza. In 1970, Mr. Foote retired and Mr. Ferguson purchased the company from him. Ferguson then moved the company to a larger building located at 32 Fuller Road in Colonie, NY (formerly Joe Ottinheimer’s engineering building). Ferguson then further expanded the company with representation of additional manufacturers and increased sales. In 1987, Donald Ferguson Jr. joined his father in the business. Ferguson Jr. holds a BA in Economics from SUNY at Albany and also attended the University of Miami. The business continued to enjoy growth. In 1992, Mr. Ferguson Sr. passed away and Mr. assumed ownership of the company. At this point, Donald Ferguson Jr. undertook the largest expansion of the firm to date. He sought representation of quality oriented manufacturers who had a well established presence in the industry. He expanded the offering, building upon the firm’s representation of the Marley line, to include Armstrong Pumps, Griswold Filtration and other water related equipment. The firm became the only manufacturer’s representative to now offer air and water products. In 2003 the firm relocated to a larger building at it’s present location at 898 Route 146, Clifton Park, NY. has also hired additional sales and support staff. We also are honored to still represent the Marley Cooling Tower Co. (we are one of their oldest representatives). On January 1st, 2009 the growth of the firm and the diversification of products and solutions offered to our customers made it necessary to present a more distinct brand/name. Foote Co., Inc, became Northeast HVAC Solutions, Inc. With this name change and our new logo, the compass, we have created a more recognizable symbol of what we do and what this company has become since 1938. We will continue to strive to offer our customers solutions to their HVAC needs and provide direction for ourselves, our manufacturers and our customers for the next 70 years and beyond.
