"When you talk about being an employee-owner… that doesn’t come lightly.”

It’s more than a title. It’s a responsibility.

In this week’s All In: The NRE Stories, General Foreman Tim Kackley shares what ownership looks like in the field—from working his way up to leading crews, making critical decisions, and taking responsibility for the outcome.

For Tim, it shows up in the extra step.

The extra time.

And the responsibility to make sure every crew member goes home Injury Free.

Because when you own the work, you own the outcome.

That’s the Power of Ownership.

73 years of doing the work the right way.

Today, we celebrate Founder’s Day at New River Electrical Corporation (NRE).

Founded in 1953 by Sherrill W. Stockton, NRE began with our first Ohio substation and a commitment to professionalism, integrity, respect, and a passion for the work. Today, that foundation has grown into nationwide infrastructure capabilities that power communities.

Every project completed and every challenge met is driven by people who take pride in what they do because they own it.

That same mindset continues to guide more than 2,500 employees across the country today.

It shows up in how we work, how we earn trust, and how we deliver — job after job, year after year.

As we celebrate how far we’ve come, we remain focused on continued growth and building what comes next.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. This day invites us to reflect on the service members who gave their lives so others could live with freedom and security.

Their courage and commitment remind us that our freedoms come at a profound cost. At New River Electrical, we are grateful for the lives they lived, the sacrifices they made, and the families who hold their stories.

May we honor them with respect and remembrance.

This past weekend at the 2026 Gaff-n-Go Rodeo, New River Electrical Corporation (NRE) joined lineworkers, contractors, and utility partners from across the region to recognize the skill, safety, and professionalism that define the lineworker trade.

NRE was proud to raise nearly $4k for the Fallen Linemen Foundation through t-shirt and toy truck sales. Events like this provide an opportunity to support the lineworker community, strengthen industry relationships, and stay connected to the skilled workforce that powers our industry.

Competitive events throughout the rodeo reflected real work performed in the field — including climbing challenges, safety and rescue scenarios, equipment operation, drone challenges, and technical tasks involving electrical components.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with our team. We’re proud to stand alongside the people who power our communities.

Future electricians aren’t found—they’re developed.

New River Electrical (NRE) recently returned to Pocahontas County High School for Career Day, where Wes McLaughlin and Joseph “Brud” Hamons had the opportunity to speak with students about careers in the skilled trades.

As proud alumni of PCHS, returning to their own school made the day even more meaningful.

They connected with students in grades 9–12, with a special focus on juniors and seniors beginning to think seriously about life after graduation. Conversations centered around what it takes to get started in the electrical industry, what the work looks like day to day, and the skills needed for long-term success.

These conversations matter.

They help students see real opportunities in the skilled trades and allow us to invest in the future of our workforce by sharing real-world experience, mentorship, and perspective.

At NRE, we believe building strong communities starts by investing in people.

Who helped shape your career path?

When people own the work, everything changes.

We’re launching a new series on what ownership really means at New River Electrical. President and CEO Ike Poe kicks off the campaign by sharing why our people and their stories are at the center of it all.

Over the next few months, hear directly from the employee-owners who push our company forward and show the power of ownership in action.

An Injury Free Mindset is built through leadership, ownership, and consistent action at every level of the organization.

Recently, our safety team had the opportunity to present at a NECA Washington, DC event, sharing our journey toward building an Injury Free Mindset across New River Electrical.

The discussion focused on how leadership, culture, and behavior come together in the field—supporting disciplined decision making, personal ownership, and safer outcomes for our employee owners.

We’re proud to stay actively engaged in our industry by sharing what we’re learning, contributing to peer discussions, and continuing to invest in leadership development that strengthens safety and performance at every level.

Thank you to the Washington, DC Chapter of NECA for the opportunity to be part of this important conversation.

Today, we celebrate Mother’s Day and honor the many women who give so much of themselves each day—to their families, their work, and the people around them.

Their commitment, steadiness, and care strengthen homes and workplaces alike, helping build a better future for the next generation.

At New River Electrical, we’re proud to recognize and stand alongside all mothers and caregivers, inspired by their dedication, leadership, and impact.

Thank you for everything you do, today and every day. 💐

That’s a wrap on IEEE PES T&D 2026 in Chicago!

Over the past few days, our team had the opportunity to connect with professionals from across the power and energy industry, share insight, and take part in meaningful conversations around the electric grid — from transmission and distribution to the systems that support safe, reliable power.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth #2263, asked questions, shared perspective, and took the time to connect with us throughout the week. We truly appreciate the conversations and look forward to continuing them beyond the show.

If we didn’t get a chance to connect onsite, reach out to Greg Newara at [email protected] — we’d be glad to keep the conversation going.

Until next time, Chicago.

This is what IEEE PES T&D is all about — people, conversations, and shared experiences.

Our team has enjoyed connecting with professionals from across the power and energy industry, hearing different perspectives, and exchanging ideas around transmission, distribution, and how the electric grid continues to evolve.

Bringing people together to talk through challenges, solutions, and what’s next is what makes events like this valuable. And there’s still time to connect.

If you’re at the conference, stop by Booth #2263 and talk with the New River Electrical Corporation team.
