“As an employee-owner, you make a difference.”

In this week’s All In: The NRE Stories, William Drew, IT Support Specialist at New River Electrical (NRE), shares what employee ownership means to him.

Supporting more than 2,000 employees across the company, William takes pride in helping people solve problems, stay connected, and keep operations moving forward. What started as a new career opportunity quickly became a place where he felt valued, supported, and connected to something greater than himself.

At NRE, every role plays a part in powering success.

There are organizations doing life-changing work in our communities that many people pass every day—without ever realizing what happens inside their walls.

Last week, New River Electrical (NRE) had the privilege of visiting YAHAB in Brunswick, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families navigating difficult seasons of life.

During our visit, NRE was honored to contribute both financial and in-kind donations to help further their mission and expand the support they provide.

What makes YAHAB so special is that their impact goes far beyond clothing or household items.

It’s about restoring confidence.

Restoring dignity.

Restoring hope.

It’s a single mother finding the confidence to step into a job interview.

A family rebuilding their wardrobe after a house fire.

A woman seeking safety, support, and access to clothing and household goods for a fresh start.

YAHAB meets each person with compassion, intention, and care.

They don’t just give items—they create an experience that reminds people they matter.

If you’re cleaning out closets, downsizing, or simply looking for a way to give back, consider supporting YAHAB. You never know how deeply your donation can impact someone who just needs a fresh start.

Thank you to Valeria Long and the entire YAHAB team for the incredible difference you make in our community.

"When you talk about being an employee-owner… that doesn’t come lightly.”

It’s more than a title. It’s a responsibility.

In this week’s All In: The NRE Stories, General Foreman Tim Kackley shares what ownership looks like in the field—from working his way up to leading crews, making critical decisions, and taking responsibility for the outcome.

For Tim, it shows up in the extra step.

The extra time.

And the responsibility to make sure every crew member goes home Injury Free.

Because when you own the work, you own the outcome.

That’s the Power of Ownership.

73 years of doing the work the right way.

Today, we celebrate Founder’s Day at New River Electrical Corporation (NRE).

Founded in 1953 by Sherrill W. Stockton, NRE began with our first Ohio substation and a commitment to professionalism, integrity, respect, and a passion for the work. Today, that foundation has grown into nationwide infrastructure capabilities that power communities.

Every project completed and every challenge met is driven by people who take pride in what they do because they own it.

That same mindset continues to guide more than 2,500 employees across the country today.

It shows up in how we work, how we earn trust, and how we deliver — job after job, year after year.

As we celebrate how far we’ve come, we remain focused on continued growth and building what comes next.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. This day invites us to reflect on the service members who gave their lives so others could live with freedom and security.

Their courage and commitment remind us that our freedoms come at a profound cost. At New River Electrical, we are grateful for the lives they lived, the sacrifices they made, and the families who hold their stories.

May we honor them with respect and remembrance.

This past weekend at the 2026 Gaff-n-Go Rodeo, New River Electrical Corporation (NRE) joined lineworkers, contractors, and utility partners from across the region to recognize the skill, safety, and professionalism that define the lineworker trade.

NRE was proud to raise nearly $4k for the Fallen Linemen Foundation through t-shirt and toy truck sales. Events like this provide an opportunity to support the lineworker community, strengthen industry relationships, and stay connected to the skilled workforce that powers our industry.

Competitive events throughout the rodeo reflected real work performed in the field — including climbing challenges, safety and rescue scenarios, equipment operation, drone challenges, and technical tasks involving electrical components.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with our team. We’re proud to stand alongside the people who power our communities.

Future electricians aren’t found—they’re developed.

New River Electrical (NRE) recently returned to Pocahontas County High School for Career Day, where Wes McLaughlin and Joseph “Brud” Hamons had the opportunity to speak with students about careers in the skilled trades.

As proud alumni of PCHS, returning to their own school made the day even more meaningful.

They connected with students in grades 9–12, with a special focus on juniors and seniors beginning to think seriously about life after graduation. Conversations centered around what it takes to get started in the electrical industry, what the work looks like day to day, and the skills needed for long-term success.

These conversations matter.

They help students see real opportunities in the skilled trades and allow us to invest in the future of our workforce by sharing real-world experience, mentorship, and perspective.

At NRE, we believe building strong communities starts by investing in people.

Who helped shape your career path?

When people own the work, everything changes.

We’re launching a new series on what ownership really means at New River Electrical. President and CEO Ike Poe kicks off the campaign by sharing why our people and their stories are at the center of it all.

Over the next few months, hear directly from the employee-owners who push our company forward and show the power of ownership in action.
