As a leading laboratory that provides unparalleled calibrations and testing services to industries requiring precise measurements, Constellation PowerLabs understands the importance of inspiring the next generation of metrology professionals. That's why we were thrilled to participate in Coatesville Area Intermediate School's College and Industry Fair and showcase some of the exciting things we do.
With an impressive variety of hands-on examples, we captured the students' attention and engaged them in science in action. They witnessed electrons jumping across wires on our Jacob's Ladder, releasing bright sparks that climbed the ladder as they heated the air around them. But that was only the beginning.
Using advanced instruments, such as the Thermal Imager, Sound Level Meter, Gauge Block set, Dosimeter, and Force device, students explored the intricate details of our trade. They learned that bananas contain some radioactive material but are far less dangerous than natural "background radiation" from the Sun. Students tested the strength of plastic chains using our Force device and even discovered how Gauge Blocks "stick" together due to the force of friction.
Our visit had a powerful impact on these students, showing them that the world of metrology is exciting, and a career in it is both rewarding and vital. Constellation PowerLabs is proud to have played a role in encouraging these young minds to consider careers in science and engineering. With over a century of experience in providing the highest quality laboratory services and a commitment to inspiring the next generation, you can trust us to deliver excellence in every interaction.
This Monday (5/20) help us celebrate World Metrology Day as we "Measure today for a sustainable tomorrow"!
