Bitter sweet knowing this is my youngest’s last week in high school. He’ll be around a bit this summer, fighting fire for ID Dept of Lands, takes his pack test this morning in fact, but he’s on his way. His next chapter has yet to be written but I think it’ll be a great read. Proud of you

I remember our conversations John, we would talk about our guys, where we thought they’d do best, how we might get more from them, what was for dinner and how much fun my wedding reception was! I wish I could’ve comprehended how important those conversations were to me in the moment; I think I did but losing you makes me question how much I valued our friendship at the time. The trust was there and in the end that’s all that mattered. You always loved hearing about my latest exploits and going forward I want to carry that memory, carry on doing memorable s**t I can look back on with pride. This weekend I shot a PRS match in TN…badass trip, doing memorable s**t with good friends. Savoring every f@cking moment, shots taken-hit or miss they all landed. Heavy reflections on this Memorial Day but full of thankfulness.
