Welder/Fabricator Job Description
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the construction of fuel tanks. The Welder/Fabricator performs welding tasks and is responsible for learning, and understanding of engineering drawings (blueprints), to carry out welding projects as instructed.
Skills and qualifications
- Technical skills and the ability to understand engineering drawings (blueprints), schematic diagrams and technical manuals
- Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic machinery and shop tools.
- Physical strength to lift heavy materials, tools and components. Also, the ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks, such as climbing ladders and bending often.
- Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate and assemble extremely small to large components.
Work Environment & Physical Responsibilities:
Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside. Comfortable with repetitive movement, kneeling, crouching and stooping. Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing.
Employees are expected to follow all safety regulations, keep work area clean, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the assigned work area(s).
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
• M-F, 7am-3:30pm
• Overtime – as needed.
• Weekends – as needed.
