Schmitz Foam USA is proud to support the return of Tropicana Field for the 2026 MLB season, helping deliver a performance-driven playing surface for one of professional baseball’s most recognized synthetic turf venues.

Following extensive repairs after the 2024 hurricane season, Tropicana Field reopened this season with a new roof, restored facilities, and a newly installed Shaw Sports Turf B1K Natural Turf System.... and underneath it all was one our company's #1 products ProPlay® Sport-20.

Engineered for elite performance, Shaw’s B1K system is designed to enhance key gameplay characteristics including ball roll, rebound, and overall consistency—while ProPlay® Sport-20 provides the resilient foundation beneath the surface to support athlete performance and long-term system durability.

The installation features a custom blend of dark and light green turf fibers to replicate the appearance of natural grass, paired with DuraEdge infield clay and a specialized warning track system.

As one of only a handful of MLB venues utilizing synthetic turf, Tropicana Field continues to raise the standard for performance-driven sports surfaces.

This year, we were honored to work alongside our partners at AstroTurf on a truly iconic destination: the historic filming site of the 1989 Universal Pictures classic, 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬.

More than 35 years later, the field continues to bring people together from across the country through a shared love of baseball, family, and tradition.

Our ProPlay EcoSport installation will help support the field for years to come, allowing athletes, families, and fans to experience the magic and legacy of this unforgettable place.
