The start of this school year has been a challenging one, yet my focus and drive remain unshaken. I’m pushing forward, grounded by a passion that can weather any storm. With every step, I'm drawing closer to some incredible projects that I can't wait to share with all of you. Today, I’m excited to offer a sneak peek at the final two book covers of the Beautiful Soul series. They’re nearly complete, and soon I’ll be able to release them, filled with the heart and soul poured into these stories, for all to hopefully be inspired by. Here’s a short excerpt from both:
The Rebirth: “ Life is like the wet paint on a do it by number puzzle: just an unfinished mixture of beginnings and endings that run together… that when completed, if ever completed, is supposed to tell a story."
The Awakening: “ She wanted me to protect her from herself, yet this was the only way I knew how: to let her go to the spaces where she was conflicted in order to comprehend her soul’s wishes."
There was a slight pause in recording our podcast Transforming Education, but this weekend marked a powerful return, with seven fresh episodes in the can, ready for launch. Season 3 will start this week, and each episode is brimming with conversations and “inspired connections” that light up my spirit, especially with all the "beautiful souls" I’ve met recently in places like Calgary and Toronto. Tonight’s “Peeps” Dinner in NYC is another chance to deepen those connections, and I feel truly blessed for the friendships and inspiration this journey brings.
Despite facing some deeper health challenges that I know I will heal from, I haven’t stopped writing, creating, or dreaming forward. There’s much on the horizon, including announcements I’m eager to share: a transformative educational framework I’ve been building for years that is finally complete, a new podcast that's bold, fresh, and "dope" (as my students would say!), and the completion of my fifth book, Whispers in the Rain (which actually has some publisher interest!). For educators, a small but essential SEL starter handbook is also coming soon. And Brian Ackley and I are pressing ahead to finish SEL is NOT a Color Chart, with a release set for next September.
Yesterday, I had the joy of seeing The Lion King on Broadway with my dear friend Tracy Borreson. I was reminded of the resilience and spirit of the characters, who teach us that life’s challenges are a part of our journey, not a detour. Like Rafiki says, “The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” I’m choosing to learn, to keep creating, to grow, to elevate, to discover, and to embrace every inspired connection along the way. It’s not about avoiding life’s obstacles but finding purpose and meaning in them.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Here’s to another year of resilience, inspired connection, and loving each other unconditionally in order to reach for something greater.
