I’m honored to have been featured by KBTX Media for a story that explores the journey of being a woman and CEO in the construction industry here in College Station. As the CEO of CSB Construction, LLC, I’ve had the privilege of leading a team and contributing to the growth of our community, but it hasn’t been without challenges—especially as a woman in a field traditionally dominated by men.
As I shared in the interview, “People set limits on women. I do not.” I’ve always believed that the only limits that matter are the ones we impose on ourselves. My journey, from growing up in a small home with eight siblings to building my own construction company, has been one of perseverance, grit, and a commitment to giving my children the life I never had.
I’ve always believed that fear is a liar, and the key to achieving dreams—whether personal or professional—is taking that next step without looking back. Today, CSB Construction has completed over 400 projects, mostly in partnership with SSC at Texas A&M University, and I’m proud of the impact we’re making in this community and the industry at large.
I’m also proud to be part of a movement to recruit more women into the construction industry. With the workforce aging and the need for younger talent growing, it's time to break down stereotypes and show that there is a place for women in every aspect of the field. Together, we can shift the narrative and build a more inclusive, diverse industry.
A huge thank you to KBTX Media for allowing me to share my story, and for shining a light on the importance of diversity in construction.
