🥵 Texas, are y’all doing okay?! ☀️🔥

This heat is no joke, and we wanted to send out a friendly reminder to our amazing community to stay safe while these temperatures keep climbing.

💧 Drink plenty of water—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade if you’re working outdoors.
🐶 Bring your pets inside whenever possible. If it’s too hot for your bare feet on the pavement, it’s too hot for their paws.
👶 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—not even for a minute.
👵 Check in on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may need a helping hand.
🧢 Wear light-colored clothing, sunscreen, and a hat if you’re spending time outside.

And don’t forget about your home! Extreme heat can be tough on your roof, attic, and ventilation system. If your roof has been through several Texas summers, it may be worth having it checked before small issues turn into expensive repairs.

Today, we pause to honor the life and sacrifice of 19-year-old Pvt. Isabella Gonzales of Carrollton, Texas, one of three brave American service members who gave their lives in service to our nation during the attack on a base in Jordan.

At just 19 years old, she answered the call to serve, knowing the risks that came with wearing our nation's uniform. Her courage, selflessness, and devotion to duty will never be forgotten.

Freedom is never free. It has always been purchased through the courage and sacrifice of men and women like Pvt. Gonzales. We enjoy the blessings of liberty today because heroes stand watch—and sometimes give everything.

Big things are taking shape at Bedford's disc golf course! 🥏

Construction officially started on the nine-hole expansion to the existing course within Generations Park at Boys Ranch, bringing Bedford one step closer to a full 18-hole disc golf experience. Thanks to a grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife, the current course will expand from nine holes to 18, giving players even more opportunities to get outside and enjoy one of Bedford's most popular park amenities.

Construction is expected to take a few weeks, and no trees will be removed during the process. The current nine-hole course will remain open during construction, so if you're out playing, please be mindful of construction areas, equipment, and crews.
