It’s not every day you get to see concrete being poured several feet in the air.

Our team recently completed the concrete deck pour for the new elevator addition at The Independence Center. This elevated structural deck will become a key part of the building’s expansion, helping improve accessibility while supporting the new elevator system.

Projects like this require careful planning, coordination, and ex*****on to ensure every detail is done right—from reinforcing steel placement to the final concrete finish.

Accessibility improvements may seem small, but they make a big difference for the people who use a facility every day.

At the Citizens Service Center Parking Garage , our team completed ADA concrete repairs, including the removal and replacement of a damaged accessible ramp and curb. These improvements help maintain safe access while ensuring the facility continues to meet accessibility standards.

Before concrete placement begins, the mix goes through multiple field tests to verify it meets the engineer’s specified mix design requirements.

Testing includes checking air content, slump, temperature, unit weight, and overall consistency to help ensure proper strength, durability, and long-term performance.

Quality control starts long before the concrete is finished.

Crews are making progress on painting at the new District 49 covered parking structure. These coatings do more than improve appearance — they help protect exposed materials from weather, moisture, and long-term wear.

It’s always satisfying seeing the contrast once the paint starts going on after all the structural work underneath is complete.

4 Rivers Equipment / John Deere sent our team to Demo Days in Moline, Illinois, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish.

We toured the John Deere manufacturing facility, watched loaders and haul trucks being assembled, and saw firsthand the level of precision and efficiency behind the operation.

The next day we hit the demo grounds where we got to run everything from haul trucks and loaders to excavators and graders alongside Deere engineers. We dug, graded, hauled dirt, pushed piles, and tested new technology in real working conditions while learning how the equipment is designed to improve efficiency and production in the field.

Huge thank you to 4 Rivers Equipment and John Deere for the opportunity and hospitality.

Coming soon at a Colorado Springs Utilities water treatment facility. Our team will be completing interior remodel work including office modifications, new wall framing, selective demolition, and layout updates inside an active facility.

These galvanized metal deck sheets may look thin, but their strength comes from the engineered ribbed design and the structural framing beneath them.

The grooved profile increases strength and stiffness, allowing this system to support a heavy elevated concrete deck once everything is tied together.

Next up: framing, forming, and pouring the concrete deck in place. Stay tuned as this elevated structure starts coming together at the Independence Center project.
