Blue Origin’s recent rocket explosion will likely delay NASA’s Artemis plans. My professional opinion having worked in this industry for a long time is that the delays will be pretty significant. But to caveat, I’m not very close to this specific issue and I’m sure teams are working around the clock to find alternative paths forward to keep Moon Base on track (the more formal plans for which we’re announced just days before this incident) 🤞 and to reiterate, EVERYONE IS SAFE.

HOW HAS IT BEEN FIVE YEARS??? At the time, this zero gravity flight was the coolest I’d done. It turned out to be just the beginning 🥹

Whether you’ve been here since the very beginning or are just joining me, thank you for giving this small town girl from North Carolina a platform to advocate for space tech and exploration 🚀

Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket exploded during a routine test yesterday. This will likely delay NASA’s Artemis plans, as this rocket was just selected to deliver lunar rovers to the Moon, and Blue is integral to the overall Artemis architecture. They only have one launch pad… well, had. Sad day for everyone at Blue but everyone is safe and accounted for and that’s what matters. Space is hard!

A HUGE congrats to my long-time friends at for being awarded the NASA contract today to build the next lunar rover!! The age of long-term lunar exploration is upon us!

They’ve been working on this for many years now and it’s so cool to see how far they’ve come. Their rover, called Pegasus, will enable extensive exploration of the lunar surface for NASA’s Artemis program.

NASA awarded two of these contracts, with the other one going to .space!

“Wow you can really hold your own in technical conversations!” 🙄

I heard this no fewer than 5 times this week. Which can be rather frustrating, but when you have a unique path from aerospace engineer to Chief Marketing Officer, it often comes with the territory (even though it shouldn’t).

I really appreciate Authority Magazine () talking to me about my career journey recently as part of their “Women Leading the Space Industry” series.

I never could’ve imagined my technical background would lead me here. But when I saw the giant chasm between space tech and the people it’s built to serve, it became my life’s mission to build the connecting bridge.

Plenty more Artemis missions on the horizon 🌙 next up, NASA will test Orion docking to one or both of the lunar landers in development. This will happen in low Earth orbit because we need to test this much closer to home first. The timeline is now “late 2027” (earlier this year it was “mid 2027”). And few details have been shared publicly. We don’t know who the crew is or what exactly they’ll be doing. They will spend “longer” in Orion than Artemis II which was ~10 days. More to come, but if you’re itching for more space stuff, there is PLENTY happening in the space industry right so follow for more 🤩
