Merritt General Contractors is seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent for projects in Colorado Springs and Colorado Front Range area. We are willing to train depending on experience.

The Assistant-Superintendent will eventually run the day-to-day field operations and be accountable for overall site management including, but not limited to, scheduling timely completion of trade work; cost control of onsite labor and materials; installation quality control (self-performed and subcontracted); abide by contact documents; and maintain a safe and secure job site. Some physical work with your tools will be required.

Primary Duty: Working in conjunction with Project Manager to Construct & Process Customer Contracts (AIA), Sub-Contractor Purchase Orders, Client and Sub-Contractor Change Orders.

 Search for property info through county accessor & RBD
 Get plans/Read plans/Send to be printed
 Process RFIs/Submittals
 Order supplies/materials for projects
 Send out invites to bid to sub-contractors
o Track progress of bids received
 Put bids together for potential clients
 Create superintendent & project manager binders for jobs
o Maintain binders throughout project (update with change orders, new contracts, etc.)
 Follow up on bids after they have been sent out to potential clients
o Answer questions regarding the bids
 Schedule/coordinate meetings with owners/subs
 Schedule/coordinate walk throughs with potential clients
 Maintain subcontractor list
 Track insurance compliance
 Write change orders for projects to owners and subs
o Track progress
 Get permits for projects
 Submit plans for review/approval to RBD
 Research various things for projects/potential projects
