GMK was proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting for HUSTL Sports Performance!

Our architects and engineers helped transform the existing building into a youth athletic training facility by evaluating the space for its new use and designing the architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and accessibility improvements needed for permitting and occupancy.

Congratulations to the HUSTL Sports Performance team and project partner Hood Construction on the opening of this new space dedicated to helping young athletes train, grow, and reach their potential.

GMK Associates was proud to partner with the City of Clinton on the Highway 56 Recreational Complex.

Using an integrated project delivery approach, GMK provided professional design and construction services to help the City advance its long-term vision for the complex while maximizing the available project budget. The Clinton Family YMCA served as a key stakeholder throughout the process, offering valuable input to help ensure the fields support the athletes and families who will use them in the future.

The project included three multipurpose fields, a public splash pad, a two-lane entrance from Highway 56, a roundabout, approximately 200 parking spaces, overflow grass parking, and a shelter with public restrooms. The project also incorporates storm drainage, irrigation, landscaping, erosion control, and supporting MEP systems.

We are excited to see the City of Clinton and the Clinton Family YMCA use this new community destination to expand opportunities for recreation, athletics, and connection!

Last Thursday marked the official groundbreaking for the Historic Marion County Library renovation and expansion. We are incredibly proud to provide architectural and engineering support to breathe new life into this beautiful building. Did you know? This landmark is one of only 13 Carnegie Foundation funded libraries built in South Carolina and one of just six that still functions as a public library today! Our design expands the space to meet growing needs while carefully preserving every ounce of its rich historic charm.

Designing spaces that work harder for the communities they serve.

For this comprehensive Agricultural Center for Laurens County, the GMK Design-Build team transformed the campus by completely renovating a flexible multi-purpose exhibition building, designing and connecting a modern tie barn directly to it, and adding an adjacent covered horse arena and warm-up pen. Developed through continuous collaboration with the owner, stakeholders, and future users, the final complex serves as a dynamic regional destination for agricultural competitions, equestrian sports, and community and county events. From specialized livestock circulation and enhanced animal welfare features to adaptable event spaces and an RV/trailer parking lot with power and water hookups, every decision focused on delivering long-term value and a facility that easily adapts to the county's needs.

West of Vine in Cardinal Crossing ran into an unexpected roadblock while working toward their planned opening and reached out to GMK for support with obtaining stamped drawings needed for their building permit.

GMK immediately coordinated with the local permitting office to confirm exactly what was required. From there, we quickly produced and submitted the stamped drawings, followed up to ensure they were received, and stayed engaged throughout the review process to address any questions without delay.

The result: approved drawings with no comments or exceptions, keeping the project on track for opening.

At GMK, we focus on responsive coordination and clear communication to help projects move forward efficiently and without unnecessary delays.
