The future is our YOUTH!
Proud to be based out of Columbia, MS! 💪
You may drive by it every day… But do you know what's being made inside?
October is also Manufacturing Month, and we're highlighting some of the businesses and careers you may not realize are right here in Marion County..
First up, Helanbak in Columbia.
Helanbak uses CNC machines and computer-aided design to manufacture precision parts. Machinists are part of their team, and this type of manufacturing can lead to careers like CNC operator, CNC programmer and production machinist.
Some of our students have even had the opportunity to tour Helanbak and see this technology firsthand.
The name Helanbak comes from water-well drilling slang for having been “to hell and back.” The company has roots in making tools and parts for the drilling industry.
Interested in a career like this?
You don't have to go far for training. Pearl River Community College offers Precision Manufacturing & Machining Technology at its Forrest County Campus, with certificate and associate degree options.
We want our students to see what's being made here, the careers behind it and how they can become part of it.
BUILD. MAKE. SECURE.
