This ole Cat needed a few cracks and snot rockets cleaned up and repaired. Scarfed all of the old welds off with an arc gouging rig and an oxy acetylene torch. Then preheated and welded everything back up. Couldn’t get a drill into these areas to drill the ends of the cracks out. But I dug as deep as I dared with the torch and a die grinder and welded all of it up.

The topper is completely done and installed on the Ranger. It made it back from powder coat and I got it bolted down to the bed and installed all of the glass, along with the rear hatch and I reused the customers LED flood lights from his cab.
Rear hatch has lockable push button latches and gas struts to help lift it.
Both side panels have sliding windows for ventilation.
Frame is fully welded 1/8” thick aluminum square tube. Body is 0.100” thick aluminum sheet fully riveted on 3” centers. All seams are caulked and topper is sealed to the bed and the cab. Rear hatch is sealed to the topper and the tailgate. Built to handle work, hunting, farming, and trail riding

Topper is finally done and ready for disassembly. It’s headed out to be powder coated. I’ll post pictures of final assembly and installation when I get it back in.

Time for a test fit of the topper on the Ranger. Also mocking up the back hatch. The owner of the Ranger wants to use the factory back glass from his machine as the glass in the back hatch of the topper. I will seal the topper to the sealing surface of the cab when I do the final install.

Here’s a few more pictures of the side x side topper as I am fabricating all of the pieces.
A big shout out to the Sheet Metal Workers at Hulett Heating for braking out the aluminum sheet for the coffin top on this unit. The fit is awesome.
You can see it’s going to have a really nice sliding window in each side when it’s all done.

I’ll keep posting as it comes together.
