This week, we’re spotlighting senior Grant Rice. He joined our robotics team his sophomore year, later than most of the other seniors. Nonetheless, Grant has made himself instrumental to our team’s operations as one of our Build/Electrical technicians. His contributions keep our team running efficiently. Grant has always been a hardworking member of the team, willing to help out with practically anything. (Also, he’s great at finding tools.) Beyond robotics, Grant is an Eagle Scout! In college, he plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.

Our Senior Spotlight this week is our Lead Programmer Alex Dininni. Like most of the seniors, he joined the robotics team his freshman year as a part of our Class of 2025 influx. While he started out as one of our bumper boys, he taught himself Java over time and now oversees our growing programming department. Outside of robotics, he plays on the St. Charles Volleyball Team and enjoys solving Rubik’s Cubes. Alex plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

This week, we’re highlighting senior Frank Steinhart, our Fabrication Lead. Frank has been on the team since his freshman year and made himself indispensable by mastering our CNC machine. He’s the sole operator, ensuring the precise manufacturing of the plates and panels that make up our robots. When he’s not at robotics, Frank tries his best to balance schoolwork and computer time. In college, Frank plans to study Mechanical Engineering.

The CardinalBots have been busy! Just about every mechanism is done and we are hoping to have the physical robot done by the end of the weekend so that the programmers can do their jobs.

Soon we’ll have some cool videos to share.
