ICP’s story began in 1936, when three engineers left a kiln manufacturing company to launch an operation producing pottery pins for the dinnerware industry in Columbus. Since then, the company has evolved its product lines and capabilities to meet the needs of a changing market.

We recently hosted an installation demonstration showcasing our products developed for the Refining and Petrochemical Industry, including:

PETROMAX® 2890 G – High‑strength, low‑iron insulating refractory for gunning

PETROMAX® FAST 600 LT – Lightweight, low‑iron insulating for intermediate‑temperature hot face or backup applications, supporting rapid heat‑up schedules that can be cast or gunned

ACTCHEM® 85 – High‑alumina, single-component, chemically bonded castable engineered for extreme abrasion resistance and thin linings

Together, these solutions improve turnaround time, durability, and reliability in demanding refining and petrochemical environments.

This sugar mill was repairing its front panels every year and fully recasting them every 2–3 harvests. After installing TUFF-FLO 47, the panels have gone through two full harvests with no maintenance required. We expect the panels to last several more years before any maintenance is needed.
