Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives (OEC) is the wholesale power supplier and statewide services association for the 25 electric cooperatives that serve more than 400,000 homes and businesses across the state of Ohio. At OEC, we strive to educate Ohioans on the importance of maintaining a reliable, affordable and environmentally responsible source of electricity by taking an integrated approach to power

generation, and serve as a resource for information about the safe use of electricity, the importance of cooperative membership, and the principles by which all electric cooperatives operate. Content shared by OEC is meant to be educational and informative, and we encourage our followers to engage in productive and respectful conversation with us and each other. However, OEC reserves the right to block and/or report users that make any of the following offenses:

Did you know the very first electric cooperative in America was formed right here in Ohio? Today, 24 electric cooperatives serve more than 400,000 homes, farms, and businesses across the state. Today we welcomed 29 high school students from across the state to our Central Ohio Lineworker Training facility for ExploreAg – a free, day-long career exploration program that shows students what it’s like to be an electric lineworker. Students got to try their hand today at building a crossarm, finding underground conductors, and applying proper line cover.
