We’ve done several projects in German Village this summer. Here is one of our favorites: a residence at 857 City Park Ave. In anticipation of their home appearing on the 2026 German Village Haus and Garden Tour, the owners asked us to restore their wrought iron fence in front of and beside the property. The home was built in 1885 and the fence is original. It is more ornate than most in the Village so we took extra care in masking, sanding, and prepping it for electrostatic priming and painting (including use of our specialized laser cleaner). We also carefully protected the many plantings around the fence, tying back several large tree branches and shrubs with bungee cords. The project turned out great and the client was thrilled!
(Fun fact: our sanding revealed the word “Buckeye” in the crest on the gate. After some research, the owner learned the fence was manufactured by Mast, Foos & Co., in Springfield, Ohio, part of its Buckeye Wrought Iron Fencing line. They even found their specific fence and gate in an archived company catalog!)
