New Avenue Architects & Engineers

New Avenue Architects & Engineers Architecture and Engineering Firm Between our four managing partners, we have over 50 years of combined experience in Architecture and Structural Engineering.

New Avenue Architects and Engineers is an Architecture and Engineering firm located in Upper Arlington, Ohio, specializing in architecture and engineering services for commercial and residential design projects. We founded the company in January 2010 by merging M2 Design Group, a structural engineering and building design company located in Worthington, and New Avenue Architects, an architecture f

irm in Dublin. After our two firms successfully worked together on multiple joint projects, we established New Avenue Architects and Engineers to bring together our combined architecture and engineering services to create an integrated and harmonious approach to the design process for our clients. We carry professional Architecture and Engineering licenses in Ohio and multiple other states across the country. We also carry National Certified Building Designer certifications, are Certified Green Professionals, and are accredited Verifiers for the NAHB National Green Building Standard program.

We love Groundbreaking Day!

We’re partnering with Epic & Co to bring this family’s custom mid-century modern home to life.

This home was designed around the way Carrie and Dallas want to live, with open, connected spaces, beautiful views, and an easy flow between indoors and out.

We can’t wait to see this vision take shape.

We’re excited to introduce Jake Perdue, who is joining New Avenue as our summer intern through August!

Jake is currently entering his 4th year at the University of Cincinnati and is focusing on commercial architecture. Originally from the Cincinnati area, he’s already been gaining hands-on experience working alongside the team on commercial projects and construction document sets.

One thing he’s enjoyed so far? Learning how much coordination and problem-solving goes into putting together a full CD set, along with getting exposure to new workflows and real-world project experience beyond the classroom.

We’re glad to have Jake with us this summer and look forward to seeing him continue to grow over the next few months.

Welcome to the team, Jake!

Do you remember driving under the covered drop-off at The Hills Market?

Looking back at the remodel of this longtime Columbus retail center, it’s interesting to see just how much transformation can happen while still preserving the familiarity people associate with a place.

This project began with a close look at the existing retail center, including field verification of the portions that would remain, before exploring multiple architectural directions for the updated design.

A key part of the work was creating a refreshed retail environment that felt cohesive with the new senior housing facility planned for the southern portion of the site, while still giving the center its own updated identity.

From early concepts through final design, the process focused on thoughtful collaboration, clear direction, and shaping a design that supported the next chapter of this community retail center.

A rendering is where the vision starts to feel real.

For this custom lake home, the design centered around maximizing the property’s views while creating strong connections between the interior living spaces and the outdoors. Large windows, layered outdoor living areas, and the elevated rear façade all work together to make the surrounding landscape part of the everyday experience of the home.

Good architecture isn’t about trends.

The best homes aren’t designed around what’s popular this year. They’re designed around the people living in them.

At New Avenue, our first step is always a conversation. We take time to learn how you live, how you move through your home, where light enters throughout the day, which spaces you gather in most, and what details will still matter years from now.

We look at how the home should sit on the land, what views should be preserved or framed, how indoor and outdoor spaces should connect, and how your routines, hosting, quiet time, and everyday moments can feel easier.

A well-designed home should not only look beautiful. It should work beautifully for the people who call it home.

Outdoor spaces are no longer an afterthought in home design. They’ve become an extension of how people actually live.

Covered patios, outdoor fireplaces, thoughtful sightlines, durable materials, and proximity to kitchens and gathering spaces all play a role in making outdoor living feel natural.

Morning coffee on the porch. Summer dinners outside. Watching the kids play from the patio. Gathering around the fireplace long after the sun goes down.

When we design a home, we think carefully about how indoor and outdoor spaces connect and how our clients will use the space.

This is the part we love… when the light starts to show up.

Even before finishes go in, you can see how the space is going to feel. Where the sun hits, how it moves, and how each room connects to the next.

For this home, bringing in natural light was a key part of the design. Every window was intentionally placed to brighten the space and frame the views front to back.
