At CM, we are experts in bridge, roadway, traffic, survey, and right-of-way. Our company was founded to raise the standards in transportation engineering.

At Carpenter Marty Transportation (CM), our success is driven by employees that strive for excellence. We focus on exceeding client expectations, not making a profit. By keeping this as our core value, we have established and maintained strong working relationships with local municipalities, counties, and ODOT district offices over the last eighteen years. Our Ohio-based team has extensive experience with local and state standards and are available to respond to client needs promptly. We are experts in bridge, roadway, traffic, survey, and right-of-way design services.

This week is National School Bus Safety Week! 🚌

Stay alert in school zones, slow down near bus stops, and always stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended. A few extra moments of patience can help protect students as they travel to and from school each day.

Thank you to the school bus drivers, transportation professionals, educators, and families who make student safety a priority!

October is Pedestrian Safety Month!

Driving slower, putting distractions away, and checking for pedestrians before turning are great ways for drivers to approach pedestrian safety.

People walking can stay alert, use crosswalks when available, and watch for turning vehicles.

Let’s work together to make every crossing safer.

🚗 There’s engineering behind every curve!

Many roadway curves have a raised outside edge a design feature called superelevation that helps vehicles navigate the turn safely. It’s the same principle used in banked racetrack turns, built into your everyday commute!

CM team members hit the lanes for our latest Thumbs Up Thursday, enjoying some friendly competition and time together outside the office. Thanks to everyone who joined in and made it a great outing!

The US is now home to more than 11,000 roundabouts and counting! 🚗

There’s a good reason they keep popping up.

Roundabouts are an FHWA Proven Safety Countermeasure and have been shown to reduce fatal and injury crashes by up to 82% at certain types of intersections.

By slowing traffic and reducing conflict points, roundabouts can help create safer, more efficient intersections for everyone.

Check out the drone footage of a roundabout designed by CM - The Columbia Road & Davis Road Roundabout, located in Warren County.

🔄 It’s National Roundabouts Week!

Roundabouts are an important tool for improving roadway safety. Intersections account for roughly one-quarter of traffic fatalities and about half of all traffic injuries in the United States, making safer intersection design a critical part of creating safer roads for everyone.

At CM, our transportation professionals have helped communities evaluate, design, and implement roundabouts. We’re proud to put thoughtful engineering and safety analysis to work creating intersections that better serve drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and the communities that rely on them every day.

This National Roundabouts Week, we’re celebrating the engineering behind safer intersections, and the people and communities they’re designed to protect.
