Not only must suspension scaffolding itself be capable of supporting four times its load rating, but the supporting structure must also be able to support the weight of the system plus four times the scaffold’s load rating.

When a tube and coupler, pole, or other type of ground anchored scaffold system is not viable because of the height of a structure, suspension scaffolds can be used. These products hang from an overhead structure and are suspended, lowered and raised by rope or cable. It must support its own weight and a minimum of four times its designated load.
