I’m sorry but this is not giving “minor repair”… this is giving “the heat pump saw one more electric bill and chose violence.” 😭
Customer said...
"I think it the heat pump control board"
And honestly, I respect the optimism, because I wish I had that kind of calm in my life. I’m standing here looking at melted panels, crispy wiring, burnt insulation, mystery white residue, and a whole corner of the unit that looks like it survived a backyard fireworks show. Meanwhile the homeowner diagnosis is just casually, “probably the board.”
Part of me wants to trust the process and say, okay, maybe it’s just one bad component. Maybe the control board packed its bags, sparked a little drama, and called it a day. But the other part of me is staring at this thing wondering if the estimate should come with a fire extinguisher, a priest, and emotional support.
At this point, I’m not asking what failed first. I’m asking what DIDN’T fail.
HVAC techs, are we fixing this or holding a small memorial service? Would you repair it or replace the whole unit? Homeowners, would you still ask for “just the cheap fix”?
