Due to the high failure rate of Chinese manufactured USB charge ports, my phone looks like it will be off-line permanently for the next week or two until I get a replacement from Hong Kong. If you need to get ahold of me in the meantime, I will try to answer eMail as often as possible.

Nothing like spending a dollar to save a dime. The first install on this job was a little rushed, and so now it looks like the wall is puking wires. No big deal, that's why there are trim rings and split loom. Of course, you can't really put a ring on a wire without disconnecting the wire, sliding the ring on, and reattaching the wire. The rings cost $3, but it's going to take a week of my time to install them and that will add some zeros.

I've been told that I have annoying tendancy to halt work and leave a job for two weeks waiting for parts to be delivered. This is why. Because one step was skipped, I'm going to have to take this completely apart and put it completely back together, all 200 wires.

The rush is only worth it when being chased by carnivorus animals.

If you're going fishing, you're going to need a boat. I found a new trick for getting wires across inaccessible areas. Boroscope + Fish Sticks + Kitchen Spoon. With the boroscope I could get the fish sticks deep into places I couldn't see, but it kept sinking into the insulation. After adding a kitchen spoon to make a little "boat", is was not too hard to "steer" the sticks from one place to another through a cramped attic space.

The first induction into the hall of shame. Some HVAC guys ran an extension blower wire behind the water heater with an exposed junction. I guess they thought the homeowner would never go tankless.
