Got a text message asking if I was interested in a lighting job in C**n Rapids. Guy gave me an address, he said he just purchased the house but he’s dealing with lung cancer. I went to look at the house. He wasn’t there waited for 30 minutes then I left. We talked on the phone and he asked if I could take a credit card. I said yes but I needed to get in the house. He said that he email me a key. Then he texted me wanting me to charge his cc and give cash to the caretaker. What do think I did with this information?

We try to keep our content light and fun. Not this post. In past few days we have grieving the passing of my mother Mabel Zeran and I just can’t function.. This morning I got a call that my old co-worker Tim Ravn retired 292 electrician died in a motorcycle accident over the weekend. Tim was rebuilding his house that was damaged by fire and he had asked me to help him by coaching him up on the latest residential codes and best practices along with lending him of some tools. I have grief but I also have a bit of guilt. Tim called me to ask me to come and get my tools and leftover materials from his garage. I got busy and I never made it. I missed my last encounter with Tim because I got too busy. Tim was grateful for our electrical brotherhood, he felt good that others rallied around him in his time of need. Tim wasn’t looking for a handout but a helping hand in a tough time. That’s what brotherhood is about, giving of what you need when you need it. Others recognizing that need and just responding. The brotherhood won’t give you everything you want but just what you need at the moment. Rest in peace Tim Ravn. May your Klein’s shine like gold in heaven.
