GenZ EV Solutions is excited to participate with Mr. Kszastowski and his senior engineering class at Bethel Park High School in Pennsylvania.

Every year, the class collaborates with a local company to help apply their engineering skills to a bigger community problem. For the class of 2023, they have selected to work with a local Ford dealership facing the challenging and elaborate transition to support EVs.

The seniors quickly learned that the upgrades necessary for this transition can be costly and almost impossible without upgrading the grid limitations. Mr. Kszastowski reached out to GenZ for insight and recommendations for his students.

GenZ’s VP of OEM & Automotive Partnerships, Bill Bieser and Operations Manager, Julie Kinloch will be assisting these future engineers in solving real concerns, such as “What will a dealership look like in 10 years with the forecast of 40% of sales being BEV by 2030?” and “What would a 100% electric dealership look like?”. These may seem like futuristic ideas, but they are vital to the process of installing DCFC chargers now.

Swedish infrastructure company Polar Structure AB announced today it is expanding into the public EV charging space, selecting GenZ EV Solutions as its US rollout partner. The partnership has the goal of establishing an ultra-fast EV charging network across the United States.

Electric charging is new to most of us. The average American has spent their life driving around in gas-powered cars and charging an EV can take a little more planning.
Here’s what you should know before you plug in:

-Locate a charger. There are about 8,000 in the US, dotting service stations and rest stops along interstate highways and other major roadways. Once you punch in a destination, most EVs will now map the most efficient route, including stops for charging.

-Be sure you are at the right station for your car. Note that Tesla Chargers will not work for other EV makers.
-Determine the required payment method. Some chargers are free, while others require payment via credit card or a smartphone app.

-Know how far you’re going and plan for adequate charging time. Somewhere around 15 minutes should be enough to add more than 100 miles of range for the vast majority of contemporary EVs at a fast charger. And it takes even less if you’re using a GENZ ultra-fast charger.

Wondering how EV Charging works? Let’s break it down:
At its most basic, an EV charger is just like any other appliance or device you charge by plugging into the wall.
The charger pulls an electrical current from either a 240v outlet, the grid it’s hardwired to or a battery and delivers that electricity to the vehicle. Every EV has a charging cable that can fit into any power point through a three-pin plug. If you need to recharge your EV, you’ll plug the charger’s connector into the EV’s inlet. The EV stores the energy as direct current (DC) in a battery pack that powers the electric motor.
Just plug it in, fill it up and you’re ready to go.
