📣BREAKING NEWS: We are honored to announce that we will be collaborating with Danaher, Aldevron, and Cytiva to support the delivery of clinical-grade therapies to the new Center for Pediatric CRISPR Cures, launched by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) and the Innovative Genomics Institute (IGI).

This center will use -based editing technology to advance cures for severe pediatric and will bridge design and testing with clinical treatment—allowing us to help develop more therapies for patients like baby KJ, who received the world’s first mRNA-based personalized in May 2025.

KJ’s therapy was more than a single success story; it was a glimpse into the future of precision medicine. This new partnership with IGI and CZI will leverage the learnings from this collaboration to scale and streamline the development process for personalized treatments—enabling us to support the delivery of targeted, affordable genomic therapies to many more patients, faster than ever before.

Center for Pediatric CRISPR Cures will be based at UC Berkeley and UCSF and focus on patients with inborn errors of immunity and metabolism.

TIME shares the story of baby KJ, his parents, and the extraordinary collaboration between the medical team, scientific innovators, and industry experts that made it possible to deliver the transformational treatment in just six months.

The gene-editing treatment was designed specifically for the infant to correct his liver defect.

BREAKING NEWS: We are immensely honored to announce the manufacture of the world’s first personalized CRISPR gene editing drug product to treat an infant with urea cycle disorder (UCD).

IDT and fellow Danaher Corporation operating company, Aldevron combined manufacturing capabilities and expertise to deliver a fast-tracked, novel mRNA-based personalized CRISPR therapy in just six months—three times faster than the standard timeline for gene editing drug products.

The transformational therapy was delivered to the patient at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
