Just a little bit about me and why I started Iron Crane LLC. I decided to start a licensed, bonded, and insured business after realizing the demand for this kind of service in the Corbett community which I have been apart of for over 20 years. The winter of 2021 Corbett experienced a large amount of snow and some members of the community had no way to clear their driveways. I spent two 12 hour day
s plowing snow but my older skid steer just couldn't keep up. After the snow had left the area I had several local residents ask if I could do other projects. These projects included driveway repairs, additional parking/rv spaces, miscellaneous site leveling, and blackberry removal. I also had to turn several people down due to mechanical issues with my older skid steer. One evening my wife and I decided that we could justify starting a new business. It took several months to get licensed, insured, bonded, and to wait for the delivery of our new 2021 Bobcat skid steer. Our intent is to provide a local option for smaller jobs that most larger contractors will pass on. In 1992 I completed my 4 year commitment with the US Army and was accepted in the Local 701 Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Program. I worked the next 10 years in the construction industry mainly as a crane operator for Campbell Crane but I also worked for Continental Crane, Kiewit, General, Garco, and Hoffman. In 2002 I accepted a job with the US Army Corps of Engineers at Bonneville Dam where I worked as a crane operator. With over 20 years of federal service in 2019 I was offered and accepted an early retirement. Soon after retiring I returned to the construction industry. I have well over 30 years of experience working with heavy equipment used in the construction and maintenance of small to large projects.
