PRESS RELEASE: Corning Natural Gas obtains highest customer satisfaction score

CORNING – For the fifth consecutive year, Corning Natural Gas Corporation had the highest customer satisfaction score of regulated gas and electric utilities in New York State for 2025!
The scores are reported in an annual audit performed by the New York State Public Service Commission. This year, Corning Natural Gas had an overall customer satisfaction score of 93.6 percent, based on surveys conducted by a third-party vendor. Corning Natural Gas exceeded all their customer service performance targets, which includes customer satisfaction, missed appointments, and escalated complaints.
“Year after year, I continue to be proud of the great group of staff that we have that handle customers; customer service and the care they provide to our customers, billing and meter reading for providing accurate bills, and all our field and management staff that interact with customers for being respectful and knowledgeable at properties,” said Charlene Faulk, VP of Customer Service and IT.

Yesterday marked National Skilled Trades Day, and in celebration of the skilled trades, Corning Natural Gas partnered with the GST BOCES Building Trades Senior Class of 2026 for a two-day hands-on learning event focused on careers in the natural gas industry.

Students participated in a short classroom discussion about career opportunities and pathways within the utility and skilled trades fields before getting hands-on experience with a variety of natural gas industry tasks at CNG’s in-house training facility and simulated gas training field.

These tasks included plastic pipe fusion, exothermic welding, pipeline locating, wax tape application, plastic service relines, squeezing plastic pipe, and installing leak repair clamps on our simulated gas system.

This was the first student interaction activity of its kind for CNG, and it was a tremendous success. We are proud to help introduce the next generation of skilled trades workers and look forward to continuing to build and expand this program in the future.
