We’re proud to have Production and Inventory Coordinator Josh Saylor and Poles General Supervisor Joby Henry participating in the 2026–2027 Leadership Coshocton County program. Through the program, participants build leadership skills, strengthen community connections, and gain a deeper understanding of the people, organizations, and opportunities shaping Coshocton County.

Josh and Joby follow in the footsteps of Shipping Coordinator Jessie Carr, who completed the program during the 2025–2026 year. Jessie used the experience to expand her community connections, learn more about opportunities to serve, and continue developing as a leader both inside and outside of McWane.

Supporting opportunities like Leadership Coshocton County reflects The McWane Way and our commitment to developing our team members, encouraging community involvement, and investing in the places where we live and work.

Congratulations to Jessie on completing the program, and best of luck to Josh and Joby as they begin their Leadership Coshocton journey!

Last month, we treated our team to lunch from local food trucks as a thank-you for their hard work. Sharing a meal together was the perfect way to refuel for a busy season ahead!

We’re excited to introduce one of the newest members of McWane Poles! Jake Wood has joined our team as a Sales Engineer. Already feeling at home thanks to the team’s welcoming spirit, he’s looking forward to learning more about our products, sharing their benefits with customers, and continuing to grow his engineering expertise.

Here are a few fun facts to help you get to better know him. He’s a snowmobiling enthusiast, starts his mornings with Pepsi, enjoys a good brainstorming session, and would happily celebrate a team win with food, an activity, or even a day on the lake.

We’re glad to have him on board and look forward to seeing all he accomplishes at McWane Poles.

What happens when utility infrastructure is put to the test by catastrophic flooding?

When Hurricane Helene devastated parts of eastern Tennessee, Erwin Utilities and Mountain Electric Cooperative faced significant damage across their systems. Their experiences also demonstrated the value of investing in more resilient infrastructure.

From helping Erwin Utilities rebuild with stronger, more durable poles to seeing previously installed McWane Poles remain standing through extreme floodwaters and widespread destruction at Mountain Electric Cooperative, ductile iron proved its ability to support long-term reliability in demanding conditions.

This National CleanUp Day, we’re celebrating the millions of volunteers who roll up their sleeves to make their communities cleaner, healthier places to live.

National CleanUp Day is this Saturday, September 19, and it’s the largest single-day cleanup event in the United States, bringing together more than 2 million volunteers alongside organizations including Earth Day and World Cleanup Day.

How far will one drill bit go? We decided to find out.
For our latest McWane Poles video, we put a brand-new bit to the test to see how many holes a single bit could drill on a ductile iron pole.

We made it to 100 holes, and the bit was still going strong. Our hands, on the other hand, were ready for a break.

Bonus: a dog and some ice cream make an appearance along the way.
