Meet Emil Schaffroth, owner of Royal Aviation. Emil began his career in the Army flying helicopters, and is a small business owner in the laundromat industry and CFII. He acquired Royal to build on the incredible success of the school from Eric Rhodes, Royal’s owner from the 1970’s until Emil acquired the school in the summer of 2025. Royal Aviation has always been a club built on safety, community, and a “family feel”, with the collaboration of instructors, students, and renters. Emil has made several improvements to Royal Aviation, including streamlined scheduling and instruction, additional aircraft, a complete office overhaul, a full FAA approved flight simulator, community events, and more.
