Recent Hurricanes devastation photos reveal many solar system in dis-array. Stand alone systems don't have to wait until the utility is online before power can be restored on their Power distribution loop.

Ground mounted solar arrays in path of destruction will need major maintenance to get online for off & on grid designs. If using non sealed batteries for off grid systems beware of acids leaching into surrounding water.
