Today Palisades accomplished a major milestone in the process of restarting the plant as we began loading fuel into the reactor vessel. This historic achievement reflects the dedication, hard work, and commitment of hundreds of employees, contractors, and industry partners who have worked tirelessly over the past several years.

For five decades, Palisades has been part of the fabric of this community. As we move through the next phases of testing and startup activities, our focus remains on safety, reliability, and maintaining the trust and confidence of our neighbors.

We are grateful for the support of our local community, state and federal partners, and everyone who has helped make this milestone possible. Together, we're making history as Palisades continues its journey toward becoming the first commercial nuclear plant in the United States to return to operation after permanent shutdown.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Let's roll!

The plant's turbine-generator was successfully placed on turning gear following extensive inspections, maintenance, testing, and refurbishment. This achievement confirms the successful operation of key turbine auxiliary systems and represents another significant step in preparing the plant's power generation equipment for operation.

Palisades was pleased to welcome U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga and Congressman Scott Peters for a site visit and update on the historic Palisades restart.

During their visit, Representatives Huizenga and Peters toured the facility and viewed firsthand the work underway to return Palisades to safe and reliable operation. Discussions focused on energy reliability, workforce development, economic growth, and the role nuclear energy plays in meeting America's growing electricity needs.

We appreciate the Bipartisan Policy Center for helping foster constructive dialogue on issues important to communities across the country.
