As the year wraps up at R.A. Jones, we're thrilled to reflect on the groundbreaking work done on our shop floor. Each post throughout the year has highlighted a step forward in packaging technology, demonstrating our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

We kicked off with the transformation of the Criterion CL-330, adapting from pizza to cereal cartoning, showcasing our ability to evolve with our clients' needs. The Maxim multipacker followed, with its unique partitioning system ensuring safe transport for glass bottles.

Mid-year, the Pouch King 2000 series made its mark with its high-speed pouching capabilities for a variety of products underlining our focus on speed and precision. The Criterion CL-240's dual-arm robot integration emphasized flexibility in cartoning.

The Automatic Magazine Loader (AML) was a game-changer in combating labor shortages, optimizing efficiency in cartoning lines, while the Meridian XR stood out for its unmatched flexibility and speed in beverage multi-packing.

As we approached the end of the year, the Criterion 2000 highlighted our expertise in sanitary packaging solutions for dairy products, and over in the UK, the AM-300 demonstrated our finesse in aerosol valve insertion and crimping.

Finally, the Wraptor SHW-250 brought a sustainable packaging solution to the table, proving that eco-friendly practices can coexist with high-efficiency packaging processes.

Looking ahead to 2024, we are excited for the new advancements we will bring to our customers, continuing our legacy of excellence and innovation.

On The Shop Floor at R.A Jones UK!

We're excited to showcase our AM-300 aerosol valve inserter and crimper machine in action! We're delivering this machine to a valued U.S. customer. It's designed to handle a speed of up to 200 cans per minute.

The Process:

-Bag on Valves (BOV) enter the machine from an external sorter.

-These valves are carefully placed into cans with advanced features ensuring no mistakes like missing stems or wrongly placed valves.

-The cans then move to the next stage where working heads descend onto the neck of the can which creates a seal between can and working head.

-The valve cup is then lifted slightly to allow compressed gas to fill the can under the cup (UTC), ensuring the right pressure is applied, in this instance equilibrium at 25 PSI. The valve is then seated and crimped.

-Various checks are performed throughout to ensure fail safe at every stage.

-Once closed, the cans move on to a Through the Valve (TTV) Gel Filler where the actual product is added into the bag inside the can. This keeps the product and propellant isolated and ensures that the product can be sprayed from any angle, even upside down, without loss of pressure.
