We wanted to share an amazing review for one of our recent customers.
"This is a review of Peppers Heating & Air after their recent installation of new equipment in attic space of residential home.
Peppers Heating & Air was one of 9 AC vendors I contacted and reviewed prior to deciding the company I would contract with on replacing my 45-year old furnace and AC system in my attic. The salesman from Peppers, Alex, provided me necessary options to pick from after assessing my cooling and heating requirements for only my upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms.
Out of the 9 vendors who came out to give a free assessment and proposals, 3 different AC vendors did not follow-through with their proposals-not sure why. They just dropped the ball.
Alex from Peppers was always there on the phone after his visit when I had several questions. He was able to provide actual model numbers of the units (AC and Heating) when asked, while other vendors either failed to return the calls, or provided incorrect model numbers that could not be located on their manufacturer's web sites. I wanted to know what I was buying...what type of complaints were posted on those models or about the vendor installing the equipment. This took time for vendor. Each vendor had their own timeline expiration on their offer. Peppers provided a 30-day limit on their proposal. After the 30-days, Alex indicated the prices would increase due to summer demand.
After I chose Peppers for the installation, their installation team had a few hiccups, and, ended up working past 6 pm late into the night with my permission. They had a late start in the morning due to traffic issues. It is very unusual for an installation to work perfectly on the first attempt. I know this from working as a project manager in the IT industry.
After their departure, the next day, without asking, Peppers wanted to send an inspector to verify all was properly working and installed correctly. Another appointment was made and inspector showed up on time; I had a few complaints: (1) their newly arranged air duct design in attic made it difficult to navigate to air filter for changing and it is very small area in the attic, (2) one room was not cooling properly after I tested each supply register with a thermal gun and recorded the results over a period of two weeks, and (3) failed to replace a circuit breaker for new outside compressor-condenser unit as old circuit breaker was too high (60 amps versus 15 or 20 amps for new unit). He also tested other items, including proper Freon levels for cooling and gas lines for heating. The inspector made notes and had the original team return to repair or fix the issues as they asked to after new appointment was made.
After agreeing to a new date (about 3-5 days later), the old team returned and within 2 hours repaired and fixed the problems mentioned without any additional costs. The team apologized for the problems they resolved and stated they would be happy to return if I found any other problems.
The AC is now working very well in all the rooms, the air filter in attic area is easily accessible after changing the air duct locations, and the properly level amp circuit breaker was installed (20 amp).
The installation team also left the necessary owner's guide documents for all the units that were installed. They also told me they would return if I found additional problems. I continued to take temperature readings of each supply and return registers after they left for two weeks to ensure all was working properly.
Within a week later, the Peppers team sent an email to me with a the warranty registration for all the new AC and furnace units, so I would have a 10-year warranty on all parts. The numbers on the registration were correct as I checked them with my photos of the new units' serial numbers any model numbers.
