On 15 May 2026, the AmSpec Academy 2026 “Antonio Lacatena” scholarships were officially awarded at the Aula Magna of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry (DCCI) at the University of Genoa.

Created through a collaboration between AmSpec Italia and the University of Genoa, this initiative was established to support promising young students as they continue their academic journey in the scientific field. Three scholarships, each worth €1,500, were awarded to outstanding students enrolling in the following Master’s Degree programs in Advanced Materials Science and Technology, Sustainable Polymer and Process Chemistry, and Chemical Sciences

More than an academic recognition, these scholarships were created in memory of our dear colleague Antonio Lacatena, whose professionalism, integrity, dedication, and passion left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. The ceremony brought together Antonio’s family, university representatives, professors, students, and the AmSpec Italy team for a moment of celebration, reflection, and shared purpose.

Congratulations to all the recipients, and a sincere thank you to the University of Genoa for making this valuable collaboration possible.

Proud to represent AmSpec as sponsors and attendees at YES Prep Public Schools’ Senior Signing Day today at the University of Houston Fertitta Center.

Senior Signing Day is an incredible tradition that celebrates students as they announce the next chapter of their journey, whether that be college, trade school, military service, or other post-secondary opportunities. Seeing over 1,600 seniors from across Houston take the stage and be celebrated by their families, teachers, and peers was truly inspiring.
