Whiting Corporation was excited to be one of the executive sponsors of the High Speed Rail Alliance (HSRA) Spring Luncheon on April 26, 2024. More than 150 attendees were gathered in Chicago to connect in person, and learn more about the HSRA, it’s mission, and it’s current projects.

The event was keynoted by Metra’s CEO / Executive Director Jim Derwinski who provided insight into the exciting new strategic plan, goals, and updates detailing how they are “Looking To The Future at Metra.” Mr. Derwinski also discussed a statewide Illinois railway program created to connect our cities with a network of fast, frequent, and affordable high-speed trains, regional trains, and buses. Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García also spoke on the importance of having high speed rail in the area and his work in Congress to facilitate it.
