Eickhof Columbaria

Eickhof Columbaria We have over 35 years of experience in fabricating and installing the world's best columbaria. Jack convinced his church to build one.

As cremation gained acceptance in the early eighties, Jack Eickhof felt something very important was missing. He believed a cremation urn should be protected and stored in a safe, dignified memorial. At the time, there were few columbaria – and none in his hometown of Crookston, Minnesota. During the design of his church’s columbarium, Jack came to realize the shortcomings of existing exposed fast

eners for marble niche fronts. He had a better idea – a unique, concealed hardware system. Jack’s nephew, Paul Eickhof, suggested marketing the hardware system to the interment industry. For the next seven years, Jack and Paul worked closely with cemetery customers to refine the hardware. While marketing this unique concealed system to the industry, Paul discovered that customers were also looking for a better way to build columbarium niches. Instead of costly, labor-intensive, poured concrete construction techniques, Jack developed a simple, modular columbarium niche system using light-weight, 3/8” thick cement fiber building board. After years of improvement, the result is a complete system that is structurally sound and secure with virtually limitless design potential. Today, the Eickhof Columbarium Niche System is at the heart of beautiful, custom-designed memorials throughout cemeteries and churches in North America.

Last week, Alex and Riley installed this Pre-Assembled York Columbarium at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Azle, Texas. It was placed just steps from the Narthex for daily connection and is beautifully complemented by a Welcoming Christ statue handcrafted by Demetz Art Studio in Italy.

Our design team has done it again! We’re proud to introduce our newest columbarium model, The Gran Tribute. While it is heavily inspired by its predecessor, the Tribute Obelisk, it is uniquely equipped with an added capacity for urns. It stands with great presence and purpose, suitable for any memorial space.

The next stop on our trip, over 1,000 miles from the first, brought Dylan and Derek to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton, MD. This highly anticipated Pre-Assembled Canterbury features a decorative granite cross and our striped granite motif. By placing their columbarium just steps away from the sanctuary, this parish can keep loved ones a part of the daily rhythm of faith.

Dylan and Derek kicked off their trip with a second-phase installation at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Woodbury, MN. The existing columbarium, featuring our raised cross design, was flanked by two niche cabinets to create an additional 308 urn spaces for their congregation and community.

David Castagno, our Texas-based Client Guide, recently visited our installation at Preston Road Church of Christ in Dallas and captured this stunning shot. After the curved niche walls were set in 2018, the site was enhanced with a bubbling fountain, subdued masonry, and decorative wrought iron railings. Each element establishes the tranquility, warmth, and character of the space.

Project Update! Bartlesville First United Methodist Church kindly sent in this updated photo of their memorial space. These columbaria play an integral role in the church's “cradle to grave” ministry and have served the Green Country community, located just north of Tulsa, since 2018.
